A WordPress Plugin that Creates Traffic

Young friendly female helpdesk operatorMany of the bloggers in this industry spend hours every day writing good articles and some great stories but many also fail on maximizing the potential to engage their audience. As the expression goes “if you will build it they will come” however if you make it easier for readers to come back then it may just happen a little faster.

How often have you commented on a post and wondered what others will write?

A couple days pass and its now a challenge to remember where you read that post.

For all bloggers it would be wise to add a piece where all your comment writers are notified of comments which follow thiers. Many of the good blogs have this plugin but believe it or not many still do not.

I think we all love to read and write so engage your audience more.

More comments = more traffic

One of the plugin’s which allow readers to “subscribe to comments” for WordPress sites can be found here

Engaging your readers is one of the most critical elements behind long term success so when you have a moment stop writing.

Step back and look at all the plugins and tools popular blogs have which you like to read.

Then, ask yourself … does your blog have these tools?

    Alan,

Thanks for the heads-up. I have an RSS feed people can and do subscribe to for comments but I like this way of subscribing also. Have added the plugin to try it out.

    all the best

    Alan,

Another way to create more traffic is to enable the new threaded comments feature on WordPress 2.7

I’ve written a post on my blog about how easy it is to add this feature to old wordpress themes.

    @Alan,
You posted this a while back. I have a question. How do you measure long term blogging success aside from gaining traffic and readership? How do you monetize? I see that you have no ads on your site..only a few affiliate links here and there. Can you share with this newbie how else do you benefit directly or indirectly with the popularity of your blog? Thanks for your comments in advance.

    Poor Uncle,

I’m really not one to ask this question of since this is not something I measure.

Others blog full time while I post randomly and have zero desire to monetize this site.

At the end of the day this blog is just a forum to share some thoughts every now and then.

I have meet some good friends from having this blog – that has been the biggest benefit.

Thanks Alan. I do appreciate your blog very much. I haven’t been around here long. But I do treasure those affiliate links you profile in the area of lead gen.
