AutoInsurance.org sells for $440,000

Car insurance never stops and 360 Quote LLC has done it again with the purchase of AutoInsurance.org for $440,000.
If you remember 360 Quote LLC purchased a number of car insurance domains last year including CarInsuranceComparison.com and a string of GEO related insurance names.
Joel Ohman, founder of Domain Superstar, runs 360 Quote LLC and is one of the few domainers we love to see acquire names since they actually get built with relevant content worthy of the money spent.

and no … this was not over priced. A fair deal for both the buyer and seller.

Alan – you are absolutely right. This was not overpriced at all. I think it was a win-win, but to be honest, this name could have gone into the 7 figures based on comparable sales we have made.

I can’t believe the surge in insurance names. This shows that if you own any insurance names in any extension that you are in the money.
I hear that state insurance names are going for six figures these days. Wish I owned californiainsurance.com or kansasinsurance.com

Can anyone tell me how the value of a domain name is determined?
I would imagine that long tail domain names like my gapautoinsurancecoverage.com might be worth something someday the way niche domain names are being gobbled up.
