Amazing traffic from a .info domain – I wonder how he managed it?

I believe that most of this must have come via his main site KeepCash.com which has a link onto BlackFriday.info but this is still amazing nearly 5mil hits on ONE DAY!

Think what a domain could do for you if you were a retailer?

Long Live The Power Of Keyword & Generic Domains!

    Regards,

    Robbie

Possibly but the .info is also:

    # 1 in Google (US) for the search term “black friday”

    # 2 in Google (US) for the search term “black friday ads”

    # 2 in Google (US) for the search term “black friday online”

A hell of a good job seo’ing this site.

    Hello Alan, nice find.

This graph illustrates very well one point.
Search engine traffic volume has no comparison with type-in traffic.

In one hand we have Blackfriday.com that is the domain that is supposed to have type-in (.info type-in is insignificant). In addition this domain was highly advertised by he massive Reinvent’s network of sites.

The winner is the .info with +4 times more trafic then the .com that was in addition heavely advertised!

    The reason?
This is due to the fact the dot info was top ranked for the black friday keyword!
Even the black-friday.net got more rarrfic then the dot com for the same reason.

    This open one question:

That is allways make sense spending hundred thousands buying a top premium domain when buying a cheaper one and investing a little in SEO can generates more benefices?

    Francois,

I think the question of whether or not to buy a premium domain also depends on your SEO skills.

SEO is still a tough lesson to learn – a handful of us know how to buy a name for the keyword element and develop the site using SEO to garner a lot of traffic but depending on the right name its still worth to pay big bucks for many of the domains for sale.

I think we can both agree your checkbook and mine would be at least a million dollars greater if we knew the SEO lessons we know today when we started many years back. The kickstart associated with good premium names is alone worth the asking price many times.

Nice find about http://www.black-friday.net – 1,500,000 visitors and a much nicer site than the ones listed above.

Such an incredibly large amount of traffic… Shame he couldn’t find a way to keep it coming back on other days of the year but congrats nevertheless! :)

    Hi,

Really, no one should underestimate the power of .info. In fact .info is the most valuable after .com and domainers, rejoice! Lots and lots of top grade generic .info are still available.

My hand-reg of today is 1DollarBusiness.info and guess what the .com is doing – just parked. So if I am active, I can go top the SERP.

    Cheers!

WOW…That really represents the true power of what a natural search term can do…And Reece, I would be happy having that many visitors to my sites (even combined) annually. : )
