HBO’s Entourage spins off Viking Quest

What I love most about domain names are they help provide a foundation for creating original material accessible by anyone in the world.

No long distance charges, no calling codes – simply type and go.

When you create a successful brand the normal move is to spin off other ideas which can generate more revenue for you and your investors. Todays wide use of the internet rewards creative minds by providing a very cheap platform that can be created overnight to take advantage of popular concepts “within your brand”. This cheap form (basically the cost of a website and just adding a link to your homepage) has far greater potential for a favorable ROI than almost any traditional media because remember, your brand is already built so you need to shift some of the branding money to customer retention.

Entourage is a hit show – few can argue that. Every time HBO rolls out another show they win more fans but it’s great to see the marketing team understand it’s just not enough to show ads on TV. They must engage the internet audience in ways that create laughter, discussion – anything to keep people loyal to their product.

Now, try to order the DVD. Maybe 5 or 10k for the website but a lifetime of priceless promotion – with investors lining up to do a Viking Quest I’m sure.
